Why was the Mako Hotend late: explanations and update
Are you looking forward to your Mako Hotend of Slice Engineering? We too!Unfortunately, the exit is a little delay, we will explain why.
After sending our first batch of Mako Hotends, some users encountered clogging problems with low -temperature filaments such as PLA.Surprise !
However, Mako was tested for more than 6,000 hours with different filaments, including PLA, without meeting this problem. After investigation, it turns out that clogging occurs under specific conditions:
Door of the closed case during PLA printing (which Bambu recommends, however, avoid). Parameter “Long retraction during the cut” activated.Basically, Mako is so effective in reducing the accumulation of heat that it can melt the filament in the cold area in these particular conditions.
Don’t panic!Slice Engineering works hard to solve this problem. They modify the design of the thermal dissipator to further reduce temperatures and eliminate any risk of clogging, even with PLA.
Slice Engineering wants you to receive the best possible version of Mako Hotend. This is why they are waiting for these modifications to be finalized before launching marketing.
