E3D & Bambu Lab
Bambu Lab has announced a major collaboration with E3D, a renowned supplier of extrusion heads for office FDM printers.
This collaboration marks the first Bambu Lab foray into an ecosystem collaboration project, focused on the development of a broadband extrusion head.
Designed jointly by Bambu Lab and E3D, this new extrusion head offers a 60 % increase in flow, equipped with the E3D Obxidian ™ nozzle and an E3DLC ™ coating for increased durability.

Stressing his commitment to open collaboration, Bambu Lab recognizes the limits of the capacity of a single company and the value of partnerships with innovative entities and quality focused.
This approach aims to expand the ecosystem and better meet the various customers’ needs.
In a unique approach, Bambu Lab will charge license rights for this extrusion head, but plans to reinvest all income in the community.
Half of these funds will be given to the Sanjay Mortimer Foundation, in honor of Mortimer’s contributions to industry.
The remaining funds will support a new foundation aimed at encouraging emerging talents of 3D printing of developing countries, for the benefit of model designers and small local businesses.
This foundation is currently in the planning phase, with more details to announce in the future.

This collaboration reflects Bambu Lab’s commitment to improve its ecosystem and respond to the previous concerns of the community concerning the limitations of proprietary conceptions on the components of the secondary market and potential barriers to innovation.
Bambu Lab affirms its commitment to continuous improvement and the positive impact of this partnership on the 3D printing community, promising new updates while they continue to shape the future of 3D printing.
